*Her boots made only a small sound as Kaiyo made her way down a deserted hallway of the Jedi Temple, but she sill flinched slightly every time the small, sharp sound echoed around her. She could just see one of the Masters suddenly popping out around one of the corners, and glaring at her. Shouldn't see be outside in the gardnes, with Yoda and the other children, playing and laughing? Why should she be wandering around inside, making noises while the others were trying to meditate. Well, she knew that she would not be yelled at, or even recieve so much as a glare from the older Jedi for the small ammount of noise she was making. She was in good standing with all of the Jedi around the temple. But she couldn't help feeling like she was going to be yelled at. She was a bit paranoied about things like that. She was so sensitive about being reprimanded, she did everything in her power not to be...*

*The mid-day sun was beating in through the tall windows on her left. She tiptoed quietly by an open door to her right where a Master and Padawan were undergoing a serious training session. Walking up to the next window, she looked out at the planet that had been her home for any memory she had. A few kids her age were indeed out in the gardens with Master Yoda. The old green council member seemed to allmost prefer the company of the young children over the companionship of the other masters. Kaiyo didn't know why, really. She could listen to the Masters talk for hours, telling stories of the various missions they'd been on, but the kids? Few of them had even ever been outside the Temple! How exciting could their lives had been?*

*Wandering father down the hallway, she found the room she was looking for: The Room of a Thousand Fountains. She wasn't much for deep meditating, but she liked the room, just to sit in silence and think. She didn't try to reach the force or anything, just make sense of her life, and her thoughts. Peeking her head into the doorway, she looked around quickly to make sure no one was in there. She hated to disturb people who used the room for meditating. Seeing it empty, she wandered in. She walked slowly on the Stone pathway, with ponds and waterfalls around her. She stopped at a small raised pond and sat on the edge of it...*

*She was small enough to fit on the edge of the wall containing the pound with ease. Her knees were held close to her chest, her red hair flowing over them, as she set her chin atop her arms, which were held around her legs. Her electric blue eyes semmed transfixed on a small fountain, shooting water up, just to have it come tumbling down, making a small splash in the pond. Her mind was not focued on that at all though. She was thinking about a book she'd been reading in the library a few moments ago, until Master Windu had caught her, and told her to go out and enjoy the day. She had put the book back and left the library as told, but she had no intention of going outside with the others. She was shy, even with those she'd grown up with her whole life. They never picked on her or anything, she just didn't feel like she fit in with them...or anyone for that matter. She was easy to get along wtih, but at the same time, a loner. Quite a complicated personality for a girl her age. But then again, nothing but her size gave away how old she really was...*

A figure lay not far from Kaiyo's, a tall man's completely undinified form was sprawled across the soft grass, ears filled with the soothing sound of the fountains and grey eyes half closed as if just on the edge of being asleep. Many would look at him and shake their heads, wondering what a Council Member was doing laying like a child in the dirt. Yet Kron was meditating, in his own fashion. He wasn't forcing himself to dwell in the Force, he was completely at ease and immersed in the Force, letting it wash through him and do as it will. He loved this communion, being so lost in something it was almost like he had no body.

Yet a sound snapped from from his enpowering reverie, a clicking of boots open the stone pathway. The grey eyes snapped open, and a casual wash of the Force was sent towards this presence. Not that he was trying to look for much, he respected privacy as much as the next. Yet curiousity was overiding that urge at the moment. Some small information was gleaned, enough to know that she was female, an Initiate, and young.

The Jedi Master sat up and got a better look at this girl, bits of grass clinging to his robes and dark gray hair, much like someone who had just awoken from a long sleep. A gentle smile was one his face, one that could set even the tensest person at ease. Well, unless they realized that they had just disturbed a Jedi Council Member.

"It's a beautiful day, isn't it?"

*Unaware of the other presence, Kaiyo jumped as if hit when she heard another voice. Stupid, she thought angrily to herself. This man was very strong in the Force, she should have felt him. Even being only an initiate, she should have. She was very critical of her own self, and always had been. A fault she'd been trying to correct, but still a habit she was unable to break. Turning her head sharply, she immediatly knew who the calm yet rumpled looking individula was. Well, she did actually know him, more like, she knew of him. She had seen him around, had heard him speaking to others, but she'd never actually spoken to him herself. She knew enough to know he was a Jedi Council member though, that wasn't something you were ignorant of, growing up in the Temple you're whole life...*

* Scambling to her feet, she bowed respectfully to him. She thought for a moment before she spoke. What should she say? What was their too say? She didn't even know his name. Well, she thought she did, but she wasn't positive. And the only was she could make this situation worse, to appear even more foolish, would be to call him by the wrong name. Her flaming red hair was not held back, and when her head was bent, it fell down around her face. She hastil brushed it from her eyes and she straightened up, shifting slightly, noticibly worried and uncomfortable. Yes, the Jedi did not look upset, and yes his smile seemed genuinely friendly, but the quiet, anxious little girl was not one to be comforted when she was distressed as she was now. Finally, she found her voice. It was not particularly powerful or even steady, but it was better than the silence...maybe...*

"S...Sorry M..Master, I d-didn't mean to dis...distub you..."

*She said, fidgeting and not looking him in the eye, instead choosing to stare into the same fountain her electric blue eyes had been watching peacefully only moments before. Her face had become a paler shade than normal due to the shock of finding another in a place she had though desserted. Her hands and knees shoock noticably, as she waited for a sharp rebuke for not being more careful to check before she'd gone and disturbed him, and another for not being outside with the other children, where she belonged. She was a generally quiet girl, a shy girl, but by no means a scared girl, but she knew how angry Jedi Masters could get, due to a rather unpleasent experience when she'd disturbed Master Windu during a deep medidtation session. He'd been workin on hiding himself, so other's reaching through the force could not detect him, a skill greatly needed in these times, but how had the little girl been expected to know what he'd been doing. Never the less, ever since, she'd always been a bit over-reactive towards unfirmiliar Jedi-Masters...*

"Hey, calm down. I'm not angry. Let the Force flow through you child, and sense my emotions. Let it calm you, fear is never an emotion that you should feel in presence of Jedi. Your name is Kaiyo, right?"

Kron stood and moved with an easy grace, moving to sit near the girl, that calming and serene smile still on his face. He wasn't angry, anger was an emotion of the Dark Side. The child had come here thinking that no one was here, the fault lay with no one. Besides, what was one uninterrupted meditation? Nothing, when you looked at the grand scale of things. She was a child, and younglings were to be cherished and guided through their walk of life, not controlled or snapped at. If it wasn't already obvious, Kron loved children. Their innocence and graceful outlook on the world was one that more people should maintain.

Both hands rested on his knees as he sat in a cross-legged form, the Council Member still showing no shame about being on the ground or acting like he was in his station. After all, they were all equal in the end, when death claimed them status did not matter. No one died better than another, no one was deader than the next. The other factor for Kron's gentle nature with this girl was that he remember being a Initiate, scared stiff of all Masters and Jedi. It wasn't her fault that she grew nervous around them.

"I know I'm supposed to be Master Ascen, but you can call me Kron if you want."

*Kaiyo looked back at him when he moved towards her, and spoke once more. She was a little confused at first, but when she looked at his face, she began to relax, if only slightly. Scuffing the ground beneath her with the tip of her boot, she was a bit surprised he knew her name. Directing her gaze towards him, she looked into his own grey eyes. Her trembling was beginning to subside. She toyed with a strand of her bright red hair, twirling it around her finger, unsure of how to react to this friendly manner. Sure, she had met some kind Jedi Masters, just look at Master Yoda. But still, she respect they commanded, it was not something Kaiyo was to take lightly...*

"Yeah...yeah, my name's Kaiyo, Master Ascen."

*She said. Though he had said she could call him Kron, she didn't exactly feel comfortable enough to call him by his first name. It was just not something Innitiates did. She saw no reason to stand there though, while he sat there resting. Folding her legs, she sat down as well, not right next to him, but not far away either. She played with a strand of grass, wondering what to do, or what to say. She realized she'd never really answered his first question, so she looked up, and smiled a little, before she spoke. Her voice no longer shook, but it was still very quiet and soft, but very clear, not mumbled. She didn't like to speak, so speaking clearly made it so she didn't have to keep repeating herself. A big plus, in her mentality...*

"And yes, it is a beautiful day..."

Kron faced the light and sun with a smile, head tilted back and eyes closed as he let the tranquil room wash through him while listening to the Initiate. He was glad he was right. Being a Council Member made it hard to keep up with well, everything. Constant meetings, constant tasks and duties. Not to mention that he continued to train and meditate, often foregoing his sleep to do so. He had formidable skills, yet there was always room for improvement. Modesty was yet another trait that the Masters could learn from children. No one was perfect, and no one could stand there and say they've reach the pinnacle of their skill, and stop daily training. Even if he had reached his limits, he wanted to maintain an edge.

All in all, Kron was constantly busy and constantly behind in Temple arrivals. He liked to make a point of knowing all Initiates by at least their name. It could be looked at as another exercise, something to train his mind. At the same time he knew this girl's name, something that could help put her at ease from how she was no longer looking to fall over or something.

"Not one for play? Most of the Initiates are outside and enjoying the beauty of it all. I hear Master Yoda is out and playing, something he did even when I was an Initiate."

His words weren't pointed, he was just wondering the youngling wasn't with the rest. It wasn't a crime to be alone, not when there was no pressing classes or training sessions. The Master remembered when he was an Initiate, and he had personally preferred to be outside and playing with Yoda rather than staying indoors, even if it was here. Kron said the last a little wistfully, remembering back. Even though Kron liked to believe he wasn't that old, he certainly wasn't a young man anymore. Yoda had been around here even thirty, thirty-five years ago when Kron was a youngling. Just how old the Master was a mystery, yet he was certainly a great Jedi. Even as a youngling he had looked up the Jedi with awe-filled eyes. Perhaps this young Initiate didn't enjoy his company, it was possible. Yoda did tend to exasperate a fair amount of people, Council Members mostly.

*Kaiyo had watched him curiously as he looked away, out the window, wondering what he was thinking. She tried not to worry that he may be making judgements about her. A Jedi shouldn't worry about such things, expecially not of other Jedi. But she knew it was odd for her to be in here, when everyone else was outside. And he hadn't ment anything by it, he was just curious, she knew. She was good enough at reading people to tell at least that much from him. Well, at least she thought she could tell that much. This was a Jedi council member after all, he could easily be hiding things from her she'd never catch on to. But she wasn't worrying about that. She needed to stop worrying so much, and she was trying...*

"No, not today. I had a...alot on my mind I guess..."

*She said simply, offering no informtation about what was on her mind. In all honesty, she alwasy had something on her mind, and she never really went outside to play with the other kids. She may sneak out, late at night, when they were desserted and the sun had gone down, but she rarely went out when the other kids were. It wasn't as though they didn't like her, for she made a habit not to have a problem with anybody. She was a pacifist, and easy-going, for the most part with the other kids. While they argued and tried to prove they were the best, Kaiyo didn't try to fight anyone if they said they were better, regardless of wether they were or not. Just nod and smile, and prove them wrong later...*

((OOC: Ack, sorry for the crappiness, just found our I have to go to a Sport's Award's Banquet, so I have to go get dressed up :-/))

Kron was considering laying back again, when he was again overcome by the curiosity. He briefly wondered if it would be acceptable or not, testing her skills. Yet he never knew what was being taught these days, or how the Initiates were performing. The only one he knew with any certainty was Eryn, yet she was older than most of them. She wasn't that good of a ruler for the rest of the bunch. So Kron tested his own skills, a casual mind read with the Force. Something heavily disguised, if she was a regular Initiate then she would never know. Not that he truly expected her to, while this wasn't Kron's strongest point he wasn't a Master without reason.

He caught hints of being peaceful and not openly provoking hostility. That was good for her, it was befitting a Jedi. While competition can push you to do better, rivalry was noting good. Many times she would face a situation where fighting could easily resolve things, yet a diplomatic approach could work much better, though it was harder. Jedi were peacemakers, though lately they were getting called to battle more and more. Kron looked back down, opening his eyes and leaning back on his arms.

"If you don't mind, can I test your abilities? I'm afraid I'm far too curious for my own good some days, and I'm adverse to just reaching into your mind and finding out."

*Kaiyo couldn't exactly feel him when he tested her mind. She could feel something a little different, but dissmissed it as just nerves, but she still had the sneaking suspicion the Jedi Master was up to something. She said nothing though, just watched him out of the corner of her eye, while she stared off into space, possibly looking at anything in front of her in the room with many interesting spectacles, but she was not seeing any of it. The beauty went ignored by the little girl right now. Perhaps the appriciation would come with age and maturity, and so too would her bad habit of shutting off all other thoughts when she was distracted, worried, or nervous. She was taken aback by his next question for her though...*

*Stop being so suspcious of him, she reprimanded herself. It was a perfectly normal thing for a Jedi Master to ask. They were always looking to find the Padawan that they needed to keep an eye on; the one that would grow up to be quite a leader. It was only natural to want to know who would be carrying on the age old tradition of the Jedi order. Jedi masters didn't often take on Padawans, being so busy with keeping everything running smoothly, expecially now in these times of rising conflict, and with all their various duties and meetings they must attend to, so she could infer that was not an ulterior motive to his request, which was good. Less pressure it put on her that way. But still, it was the first time a Master, other than Yoda who treated all the children with special care, had paid special attention to her. It was a bit odd and unsettling, but it made her feel important, in a place where all the children were made to feel equal: not neccesarily a bad thing, but it was never bad for a growing child to recive some sort of attention to make them feel important, be them Jedi or just a normal citizen's child...*

"Um...sure, I guess..."
