Physical Description:
Hinata is your typical, human Jedi. Standing at about 5'7" and weighing 126 pounds on the nose, she can be considered fit yet not alarmingly thin. She has medium length, straight mahogany hair, usually by her shoulders or tied up with a coarse piece of fabric.
Perhaps Hinata's most distinguishing trait are her vivid green eyes, and if the observer has a bit of imagination, they seem to have a hard edge on them. It's said that eyes are the passageways to the soul. If that be the case, then Hinata's soul is very cold and frightful indeed..
But maybe I'm being a little too metaphorical. Back to facts. Hinata has a light, flexible build, making her most dangerous when on the move. In a fight, Hinata enjoys the upper hand, forcing enemies into corners, and often switching directions. In a fight, Hinata's footwork makes up for her obvious lack of lightsaber coordination, and many feel that her speed and flexibility is the only reason she ever passed as a Jedi, much less gained a seat on the council.
Hinata's ability with the force was never anything spectacular, which results in very little use of it by itself, such as force lightning. Her preferred weapon is a lightsaber, it being light and easy to handle, but there was never anything wrong with a good ol' blaster..
She can often be seen in the traditional Jedi attire of a tan tunic and boots (though slightly taller than average, coming almost knee-high), lightsaber hidden safely away.
The only scar Hinata bears is a blaster burn on her right shin, and though time has faded the various cuts and bruises, that one remains as sharp as ever, stinging whenever water (or any other liquid) comes into contact. This is the reason why tall boots are needed.
Another noted 'flaw' is her right eye, which has poor peripheral vision (well, it clouds half her eye), due to a stick in the eye during her childhood. However, the human race has been known to adjust extremely well, and Hinata has learned to make up for that vision loss by a keen sense of hearing, and favoring that side of her body during battle.
Personality:
Hinata's outward personality is exactly like her physical appearance - that of a Jedi. She is courteous enough to make friends, happy enough to assure others that she is normal, yet still maintains a distance when it comes to close friendships, save her fellow council members (and childhood friends). Her real personality doesn't come into play until you know her well enough to crack beneath the surface.
Beneath the cold, professional demeanor, Hinata really does have a bit of warmth, if not lacking in humor. She is fiercely loyal to those who have gained her trust and admiration, and never backs down from a fight for her beliefs. Fiery, is the word for it. Even with her cold demeanor, Hinata never backs away from a challenge in any way, shape or form. If anyone dares question her choices and tactics, they will get a cold look and a stiff suggestion to go through thirty years of training as a Jedi themselves.
Yes, Hinata is a tad egotistial, as with all detached people. Her pride, beliefs, and close friends are all things she values very much, and those three things are what/who she fights to protect. This makes her both a frustrating and comforting companion.
Character History:
Of course, a person's personality is simply a trait, though half of Hinata's stunning personality would not have been aquired, if it wasn't for her bitter-sweet past.
Hinata was born into an average family on Coruscant, both her parents running a single, medium sized gourmet restraunt. It didn't earn them enough to be considered rich, but they made a living anyway. Hinata was found to be force-sensitive, and was taken away by the Jedi when she turned three. Though it's unknown to her, her family was killed in an airbus collision soon afterwards.
The Jedi were ever so careful molding her personality to be obediant and warm, friendly and loyal. They were careful not to allow her anger, and any other 'dark' traits. Of course, the result was the typical Jedi, and remained so even after the event that left her right eye almost blind.
Hinata's performance in her classes was always slighty above average, though still missing that "A". She made many friends and acquaintences, though only kept two close to her heart. Another male human named Geni, and a female Twi'Lek named Aara.
Together, they made a fearsome threesome, growing closer instead of separating as they entered their padawan years. Hinata was chosen a week before her 13th birthday. However, she never bonded with her master the way most padawans did, and their relationship suffered as a result. Bok was a Jedi whose main skill (and pride) rested in his lightsaber, a weapon of which Hinata never held any high regard.
The fateful day that changed her life happened when Hinata was 17 years old. It was supposed to be a simple mission to the planet Zhar, to retreive an initiate that had not returned for over a week, and sent no contact. What was supposed to be and what happened were as different as life and death. For Geni, Aara and their masters, it was life and death.
A new danger had begun to grow on Zhar, an unknown plant species. It resembled a Venus Flytrap, though with the deadly power to lure.. with illusions. It could camoflouge itself in its surrounding forests completely, sinking into the darkness until an unususpecting Jedi wandered through. Then, it would strike.
It took Geni unsuspectingly, and before his master had time to draw his lightsaber, he too was gone. The small group retreated for a night's rest and regrouping - they would strike the next day. That night, Aara and Hinata shared a tent, and Aara awoke her at midnight.
"Why?"
"For Revenge."
"Stupid. We'll get it tomorrow, with our masters."
"No. Now. Geni was our friend!"
"..."
"Where's your loyalty?!"
"Rules are rules.."
Thus, Aara left the tent alone, and never came back. When Hinata confessed this to the masters the next morning, it was too late. The group of three slaughtered the plant, and burned the remains, eliminating every trace of the plant. The scientists were horrified. "A whole new species!"
While the masters were tied up with lawsuits, Hinata had changed. She never forgot that short conversation with Aara, and the last words her best friend uttered. "Where is your loyalty?"
Fighting with this last sentence in mind, Hinata was made a Master at age 25, and later a Council member at the young age of 30.
RP sample:
It was dark. Nighttime on the moon Zhar was bitterly cold, and Hinata shivered under her heated blanket, though she still had all of her day clothes on, plus a thermasuit. Outside the small tent, the leaves of the forest rustled, as if trying to get her. Hinata squeezed her eyes shut, but that only sharpened the memory.
She remembered every line on Geni's broad figure, the way his eyes seemed to always smile, his laugh whenever she felt down. She remembered seeing the back of his head as he was swept away by the fangs of that odd plant, the blood slattered over the dying leaves. She remembered her screams, the astonished yelp of Master Zai, and how Reni, ever quick, had lit her lightsaber with a blurred motion.
All these thoughts swam in Hinata's thoughts, and she felt tears in her eyes. She didn't let them out. "A Jedi shall show no sign of weakness"? Was that a part of the code? Hinata didn't remember anymore. It didn't matter, anyway. All that mattered was that he was gone. One of the greatest Jedi in the world, or at least from 15 year old Hinata's point of view.
Beside her, Aara shifted, and Hinata felt the sudden whoosh of cold air as the Twi'Lek sat up, and leant over, checking if Hinata was asleep. It wouldn't be long now..
Picture?
Working on it..
