Thousands and thousands of holofiles met Jedi Master Hinata Riya as she entered the library, silent and imposing as usual. She was greeted by a cold blast of air as the doors hissed shut behind her, her glistening mahogany hair blew forwards, coming to a rest on her shoulders. Livid green eyes searched the front for Jocasta Nu, but the elderly librarian was nowhere to be seen. The force was void in the library, and though dim lights lit the shelves, and computers hummed quietly in their places, there was no doubt that the Library was a lifeless place. Not somewhere Hinata wanted to be.
However, her purposes were extremely urgent and of utmost importance, and nothing could have kept Hinata from coming. Repressing a sigh, the Jedi strolled through the clean swept library, her footfalls echoing on the polished marble. As usual, the Master was dressed in the traditional Jedi turban, her hair flowing freely a little past her shoulder. Piercing green eyes scanned the shelves.
E.. G...
She had to be getting close now.
J... L...
Hinata suddenly found herself in an area of the library she'd never bothered to enter before. It was a small cul-de-sac type area, lit by bright lights reflecting off of the durasteel bookcases. She ran her fingers along the spines of the books, watching as dust settled onto them.
Suddenly, a crash echoed through the room, and the Jedi turned, startled..

Eryn lay face down on the floor, twitching, thoroughly embarrased, and in loss of her glasses. The crashing sound had come from her quite dramatically tripping over her own feet and sprawling onto the floor, limbs askew and her precious light-filtering glasses knocked clean off of her face and a couple inches in front of her outstreched fingers, hands thrown in front of her in an attempt to halt her fall.
The girl had been in such a hurry to run into this section of the library because she had been after a book on Levitation, and a search of the computer has revealed a holofile to be here. She could have just downloaded the information on her datapad in her room, yet it was currently full and didn't have the space left. Eryn had been in a hurry to get here partly because she was excited, and partly because the faster she retrieved the information and got it back to her room, the sooner she could read it and practice.
Yet her haste had led to being clumsy, and now she had tripped and fallen in front of someone... who it was was a mystery. Without the light being filtered out, even this slightly dimmed light was causing her grief and pain. Eryn had heard where they landed, so her hand shot out and grabbed them, shoving them back onto her face, starting to mutter.
"The calbration is all messed up... oh man I hope they didn't break... Kron isn't here so he won't be able to fix them... oh man oh man."
She pressed two buttons, discreetly built into the frames. She manually adjusted them, seeing as they weren't automatically adjusting. Not good. Yet she couldn't fool with this any longer, seeing as a Jedi was standing in front of her. Eryn stood, showing just how short and broad she was. Not the ideal build for a girl, though she was still feminine. She managed to see just who is was, and blanched. Of all the people she could trip in front of... a Council Member! She tried to calm herself and bowed low, her voice much louder and clearer when she adressed this girl.
"I'm so sorry, Master Riya. I was in a haste unbefitting a Jedi, and I tripped. Do you wish me to leave now?"

Eryn. Hinata surpressed a grimace at her own jumpiness. What, did she expect a Shadow Jedi to come barging into the temple, now so heavily guarded by clones? Master Riya used the time it took Eryn to attempt to readjust her glasses to recompose herself, straightening and trying to maintain what precious dignity she had left.
The Jedi was slightly irritated at Eryn's clumsiness, but the annoyance was ill placed, for it wasn't the initiate's fault. Everyone had their moments. Hinata's expression was thunderous at first, but it soon softened into a look of slight amusement. At a glance, Eryn's glasses looked simple enough - sturdy and unscathed through all this. However, the way the initiate began to push at them made Hinata wonder.. Still, it wasn't her problem.
"No, you may stay."
If it had been anyone else, the answer would certainly have been much more reassuring, and perhaps with a soft ring to it. However, the only soft words spoken by Hinata were the mumbled ones in her troubled sleep, and not once in twenty years had she reassured. It was a dull life indeed.
(Sorry, I'm a little busy right now, so the post is a little shorter than ususal..)

"Thank you, Master Riya. Please don't let me disturb you, I simply need a holofile. I'll get it now."
Wow. Yet another stupid thing to say. Why else was she here? Obviously not to stalk the Master, and if she wasn't running then she wasn't wandering or getting excersize. Eryn was elated that she was allowed into the presence of one so powerful, yet at the same time still incredibly nervous. She knew that she sucked at using the Force, and who knew what this powerful and wise Jedi thought of a complete loser like herself.
That she didn't get yelled at nearly caused the girl to nearly collapse out of relief anyways. She moved to the shelves of books, moving nearly silently and very modestly, trying to be respectful as possible in the presence of Master Riya. Her eyes scanned the titles, and landed on the one that she wanted. Eryn could have tried to be flashy, and levitated the holofile into her hands, but A) she would only just be able to do it and B) Jedi weren't supposed to be flashy. They are to use their powers when needed, and not for themselves.

Confidence was a funny thing. Some people had an obvious lack of it, while others had too much. No one seemed to have just the right amount. Usually, the people with the least confidence had the best skills. It was quite obvious which one of these two categories Eryn belonged to, though the higher the rank of a person, the harder it was to tell. They seemed so confident, strutting through the hallways of their creation with grace and certainty, cloaking their emotions behind a proud, powerful mask. Dignified was the word. However, dignified and confident were two very different things, as Hinata well knew.
The Jedi was desperate, and besides, Eryn could be a great source of information..
Brilliant, a young mind is.
The same voice echoed through her head, and Hinata spoke, quieter this time, and slightly softer.
"Erm.. Do you happen to know a planet named Genosis?"
Asked Hinata hesitantly, not sure how much initates knew these days. Then again, times had changed..

"Um... it sounds familiar... "
Eryn's round face scrunched into concentration, brow furrowed as she strained to remember. She was so flattered that a Jedi Master, a Council Member no less! was asking her for information. Eryn raked through her mind, struggling to recall anything and everything. The girl did do a lot of reading, and often liked to make a point of reading at least a sentence or two about a planet a day. If she was to be a full-fledged Padawan someday, she was going to be headed to various worlds. Having a good base of knowledge would be extremely useful in that case. Eryn was determined to have her other abilities make up for her obvious lack of talent in basic areas.
"I remember reading about it recently. It's by Tatooine, it's a rocky world... and it's got a native species. I think I still have the information loaded onto my datapad. It's mostly planatery info. Is that what you're looking for?"
The girl was shifting her weight from foot to foot in nervousness, yet that ancy fear was starting to dissipate as she grew more used to the Master's presence. She quickly turned and grabbed her own holofile and slipped into a pocket, because if the Master wanted to see the information than her datapad was in her room. Unless, of course, they did a search on the library's computer.

Hinata nodded, delighted that initiates knew more than masters gave them credit for. Yoda's voice echoed around her head, and she had to force her mind back.. To more important things. There was no doubt the Seperatists' base used to be there, as Obi-Wan had seen it himself. That was all they knew of the planet, other than the basic information. Current events are more difficult. The council member wanted to find out as much as possible, but if all else failed, then they would have to send a few Jedi in. This was almost unthinkable, as there weren't many Jedi to spare, but if it's for the common good..
Once again, the Master pushed other thoughts away to the back of her brain, for analyzing later.
"Good, that'll do. Have you heard of any.. rumors about the planet?
She asked again, working hard to mask her enthusiasm. Hinata had learned the hard way that the initiates' gossip was, more often than not, extremely accurate. She needed information, and fast. It was a hypothesis she had not yet shared with the council, though it seemed like a reasonable one. Shadow Jedi rumors were usually extremely far-fetched, but the fact that they were located somewhere near the old seperatist base seemed realistic enough. Besides, even if they weren't, the fact that any starship within range of the planet never returned was worth investigating..

"Um... I've heard a little from around. Kron mentioned it a little while back, that people keep in going in, but not going out. That's what stood out to me, at least."
Eryn shrugged, having no idea why Master Riya was so interested in Genosis. Eryn knew the basic history of the planet, and that the Seperatists had had their base there. But it was abandoned and destroyed, right? There wasn't anything else that was worth while on such a barren and rocky planet. Yet the Master had a reason for what she did, and it had to be a good one.
Eryn was now nervous again. What if she didn't have enough information? The Initiate was constantly striving to please her uppers. Not so much for their benefit, but their approval assured her of her own self-worth. She again reached up and nervously adjusted her glasses by pressing the buttons, trying to think of what might broken. Probably the microsensors that read the strength of the light, and from there calculated what to filter. She went through her knowledge of the inner workings, using this as almost a meditation to calm herself.

It was back, the nervousness. The force vibrated around the initiate, stretched and waning. Thin. Hinata couldn't place the feeling, nor could she describe it, though she felt it, and that was good enough for her. It seemed like this girl worked best with things she did know. What did she know? Simply things about Geonosis. Facts. Hinata needed to venture into the fog of the unknown, spectulating on what could be. Spectulating, ugh. It wasn't her style, nor was she good at it.
"And.. Have you heard rumors?"
Once again, the power of temple gossip. If it fit in to what Hinata had been guessing at all this time, it was definitely worth the scorning looks and annoyed expressions she received from the rest of the council whenever she mentioned the idea of Shadow Jedi on Geonosis. She didn't understand why they wouldn't believe her, except maybe Kron. Kron. Eryn mentioned him so loosely, it was like they were.. close friends. Perhaps he had already mentioned the fact that she thought Shadow Jedi were located there. Then she would be going in circles.
Thoughts racing a mile a minute, Hinata forced herself to calm down, breathing deeply and drawing the force around her, like a blanket. Everyone had their own safe zone, places they felt comfortable in. Hinata's happened to be battling, and Eryn's.. Well, she didn't know the girl that well yet..

"N-not really. I heard a little at training once, that something really nasty had to be there, even the Clones aren't able to perform rescue missions. Maybe even Shadow Jedi. I-I'm sorry I don't know more. I'm a terrible Jedi, so the Initiates don't gossip to me."
She was again looking at the floor, almost looking near tears in nervous shame. The shame was of her own making, that she couldn't even answer a simple question to the Master, or give her sturdy information. It was also evidenced by her speech starting to break down, a stutter or two placed within. This slightly embarrassed her.
Yet at the same time she was acknowledging her own feelings of incompetence to the Master. Eryn didn't think that Master Riya would understand, she hadn't any trouble getting a Master and she was on the Council to boot. But still, she's had to have dealt with loser Jedi before, right?

(Sorry it's short, I'm advertising ) The stutters were apparent, the tearful look was too. The only thing Hinata didn't know was why. It didn't matter, anyway. She didn't have time for stuttering initiates, there were more important matters on her mind. "Right. Well, thanks."The master said curtly, turning and starting down the aisle. She was never big on feelings, and had been called an "insensitive squirt" too many times, by too many different people. Oh well, some things never change..

Eryn gave a low bow, and decided to try to dismiss this encounter from her mind. Meditation would do her good now, it would clear her system of the excess emotion. Master Riya had already milked all information out of her, so there would be no more questions. It left the girl alone to wait, not wanting to follow the Council Member out like a worried Initiate or a pet. She was worried and was an Initiate, but she was no pet. It sparked a pride issue right there.
The girl stood there, counting calmly to 50. It served as a quick meditation for her as well and waiting, the disciple and patience required to slowly count and not lose track or leave early served to calm her down. Eryn took a deep breath as she reached the number, and strode out of the library.
